Strawberry Melomel

Ingredients

  • 9 lbs bulk wildflower honey from Harvest Co-op
  • 6 qts After the Fall Apple Strawberry juice
  • filtered water Q.S. to make 3 gal
  • 1 Tbsp yeast nutrient added after 10 min boiling was over
  • Red Star champagne yeast

Instructions


Honey boiled 10 minutes with a little filtered water. Slight boil-over occurred. Yeast nutrient added to honey after the fact. Carboy & funnel sanitzed & rinsed w/ tap water. Juice poured in carboy. Boiled honey sat 10 minutes before being added to juice.

racked. lots of sediment. topped up w/more must cooked same as before, 1 qt juice + 1.58 lbs honey. could have used even more.
